Your Zoom meetings are an integral part of your 50 hours of counseling training, designed to serve you and help you grow in your walk with Christ and your ministry to others. Here’s how to approach and prepare for these meetings to make the most of our time together:
Meeting Details
- We will have ten Zoom meetings during your 50 hours of counseling.
- Each meeting can be up to one hour, though it does not have to last the full hour.
- These meetings are for your benefit, allowing flexibility to discuss what is most relevant and valuable to you.
Purpose and Topics
You have the liberty to steer the conversation based on what will serve you best. While these meetings can include discussions about your 50 counseling sessions and Case Report Forms, they are not limited to those topics.
Here are some examples of what you might bring to the table:
- Marriage Issues: Addressing personal challenges or discussing relational dynamics with your spouse.
- Church Relationships: Navigating relational tensions within your church community.
- People Problems: Processing situations or individuals you are counseling or ministering to.
- Ministry Questions: Exploring how to start or grow a ministry, whether personally or within your church.
- Life Over Coffee: Learning more about our ministry, philosophy, or practical applications.
- Counseling Concepts: Deepening your understanding of biblical counseling principles.
- Spousal Involvement: If you are a pastor’s wife or married, we can include your spouse to discuss ministry or other matters that are relevant to your family or ministry context.
These meetings are designed to build upon the feedback I provide in your forums. They give you the freedom to explore topics that matter most to you while helping me better understand who you are and how to serve you effectively.
Preparation Tips
- Plan Your Agenda: Spend time before each meeting thinking through what you want to discuss. Writing down a few key points or questions can help focus our time.
- Lead the Conversation: These meetings are for you, so be ready to guide the discussion toward what is most important to you.
- Follow Up on Feedback: Use these calls to clarify or build on feedback from the forums, applying insights to other areas of life and ministry.
- Be Transparent: These meetings are an opportunity for growth. Sharing openly will help us maximize their benefit.
A Final Thought
These Zoom calls are not merely a program requirement; they are a way for me to serve you personally and help you live out God’s calling in your life. Use this time wisely to gain biblical insights, practical tools, and encouragement for the journey ahead.
Let’s approach these meetings prayerfully and intentionally, making them a meaningful part of your training and transformation.
If you believe I should supervise through your Phase 3 training, the next step is to become a Leader Over Coffee, which you may do HERE. Once you pay the fee, the following things should occur:
- Go to your ACBC dashboard to let them know I’m your supervisor.
- We will setup your personal forum and contact you when it’s ready and provide the link so you can get started immediately.
- If it’s on the weekend or after hours, there may be a slight delay: our office hours are on the east coast in the United States, which is Eastern Standard Time.
- However, we will set you up ASAP and notify you so you can get started.
Peace,
Rick
