Other Helpful Resources
Throughout the interview, they explain the purpose of Life Over Coffee—helping people develop gospel-centered relationships through discipleship, biblical counseling, and the faithful application of God’s Word in the context of community. They discuss the importance of living intentionally with others by offering wise counsel that leads people toward Christ, rather than leaving them to navigate life’s challenges alone. Rick and Lucia clarify what discipleship truly is—not a program or curriculum—but a relational investment where one believer comes alongside another, offering practical wisdom and compassionate truth that points to Christ as the only sufficient hope for real transformation.
Marriage, one of the most frequent and personal topics believers wrestle with, was also part of the conversation. Rick and Lucia offered sound, biblically-based advice about building marriages that reflect the sacrificial love of Christ. They addressed common marriage misconceptions, self-centered expectations, and the importance of growing in maturity through loving, God-centered service to one another. Their insights challenge couples to think more about giving than receiving, showing how the gospel reshapes selfish desires into Christlike love that seeks the good of the other.
In addition to marriage, the discussion expanded into various aspects of the Christian life, including how to navigate relational conflict, provide soul care in community, and grow in personal sanctification. Rick and Lucia emphasized that these practical applications of biblical truth are not reserved for professional counselors or church leaders alone but are the joyful responsibility of every Christian who desires to love God and others well.
Listeners will come away with a clearer understanding of how to bring the gospel into everyday conversations—whether in their homes, churches, or workplaces. Rick and Lucia’s passion for equipping the body of Christ with accessible, Christ-exalting resources shines through every part of this interview.
