Description
Centering Your Marriage on Christ (12,000 words) – What you are about to read is a workbook. I wrote it to come alongside you as you journey the privileges, opportunities, and challenges of marriage. I’m not assuming your marriage is in trouble, but as part of the fallen human race, we all need help, even in preventative ways. I hope you will take the journey with me regardless of where your marriage is. Because this is a workbook, please return to it as often as needed. Like any good resource, you want to revisit it as needed. Of course, we know that sin does not take a holiday, so our work is not complete until the Lord Jesus returns and we experience the perfect sinlessness of glorification.
Rather than moving on to the next good book, consider this one as a long-term friend. The Lord can use this resource to transform any marriage if both spouses are willing to commit to its content and the questions that are waiting for them—plan for many days and dates to do life over coffee. The most effective way to read this book is to read a chapter together while stopping along the way to talk about the things that the sweet Spirit of God highlights for you. You’ll find questions interspersed throughout the chapters for discussion, not necessarily at the end.
- Take your time.
- Talk with each other often.
After you finish a chapter, spend time in prayer with God and have conversations with each other as you work through the reflective questions. My prayer is that this book will be a means that the Lord uses to bring needed hope and help to your marriage.
