Description

Complete Marriage: A Coequal Hierarchy (20,900 words) – Every person has dual roles. I’m a son, brother, husband, father, business owner, church member, and Christian—to name a few. Multiple roles with different responsibilities permit me to express more of God to Him and others throughout my life. Marriage is one of those unique relationship roles in which a couple has the opportunity to express God more profoundly within their covenant, to their family, and to their community. Marriage is a beautiful picture of Christ and His church, but that picture was marred by sin. Our collective fallenness is why every Christian couple should have an all-hands-on-deck mentality. Fixing what was broken in the Garden of Eden and spreading the beauty of Christ through a redeemed and restored marriage requires spouses to maximize their multiple God-given roles as Christian, male, female, leader, follower, brother, sister, etc. The smart and humble couple realizes this opportunity before them, which is why they encourage and help each other to be all God intended them to be within their marriage covenant, including their respective roles and responsibilities.
