Leadership Analysis

In our mastermind program, we conduct a five-point leadership analysis. These points are essential qualities we seek in students and individuals we aim to develop into leaders. Here’s a brief overview of each point in order of importance:

  1. Character: This is foundational. Within character, we examine various subcategories. While the list is not exhaustive, it highlights some key traits we value in our students.
  2. Capacity: Think of this as the size of a person’s container. Everyone has a different capacity, and it’s crucial to understand this. Though the assessment of capacity is subjective, we strive to determine each person’s capacity accurately.
  3. Intellect: This includes cognition, analysis, peripheral vision, and discernment. Once we understand a person’s capacity, we can begin to pour training into their container, focusing on competence.
  4. Competence: This involves application, creativity, practice, behavior modeling, methodology, and more. Competence builds upon the foundation of intellect and capacity.
  5. Courage: Key aspects here include leadership ability, gathering people, directing with sympathy, and confidence. It’s about being a free thinker, unafraid, and able to state what needs to be said. Courage is crucial for effective leadership.
  6. Compassion: Courage without compassion can be harsh, while compassion without courage can lead to excessive mercy. Both courage and compassion are essential. Christian counseling, for instance, requires compassion to be truly effective.

These elements—character, capacity, intellect, competence, courage, and compassion—are essential in our leadership development program. While you can add more subcategories, these core qualities are integral to nurturing strong leaders.
