Life Over Coffee Devotions
In an attempt to fill the void, Mable immersed herself in Christian disciplines such as commitment, service, and duty. However, these efforts have left her exhausted and joyless. While she continues to strive outwardly and inwardly, she feels unseen, unheard, and unvalued.
Mable describes Biff as once creative and engaged in their relationship. Now, she views him as self-absorbed, pursuing personal gratification while drifting aimlessly through life. She wants him to fight for her, rescue her, and rediscover the adventurer he used to be. Instead, she sees a man she calls an imposter, disconnected from life and their marriage.
Mable seeks counseling with a desire to see her marriage restored but is unsure how to proceed if Biff chooses to remain unrepentant. She wants to honor God but feels overwhelmed by the relational void and her fading hope for reconciliation. She wonders if there’s a way forward for her, even without her husband’s engagement.
Rick launched the Life Over Coffee global training network in 2008 to bring hope and help for you and others by creating resources that spark conversations for transformation. His primary responsibilities are resource creation and leadership development, which he does through speaking, writing, podcasting, and educating.
In 1990 he earned a BA in Theology and, in 1991, a BS in Education. In 1993, he received his ordination into Christian ministry, and in 2000 he graduated with an MA in Counseling from The Master’s University. In 2006 he was recognized as a Fellow of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC).
